Diana Cortez- Sanchez began her high school career like many other students. She found herself in JAG Specialist Jamie Ruxer’s classroom inside Jasper High School. She went to introduce herself and learn more about the class.
Diana started as a JAG student her junior year at Jasper High School. She began to excel in not only the classroom, but her personal life as well. “I learned a lot of responsibility and leadership and I was able to get out of my comfort zone,” Diana explains. Jamie was excited that she was part of the class.
“Diana really stood out and had more confidence in her public speaking, she became much more confident in herself,” Jamie says.
“JAG helped me not be ashamed of my culture. Before every time I spoke Spanish, people would be judging me. After JAG, I have helped Hispanics get out of their comfort zones as well,” Diana says.
Thanks to JAG, Diana is now working towards her dream career as a cosmetologist.
